What we do
Meet the team
Embark on a transformative journey with Kushal India, a pioneering project supporting wellbeing in pregnancy, wellness and maternal mental health. We harness the power of community and technology. In secure spaces, women unite to share stories, learn from one another, and support each other. Trained by Kushal, community focal points empower women to access our digital tools for mental health and well-being—essential aids in navigating the challenges of pregnancy and motherhood.
Joining us not only grants women crucial health insights but also cultivates a deep sense of empowerment and autonomy. Armed with the knowledge to make informed decisions, they contribute to healthier outcomes for both mothers and children, sparking positive change in their lives and communities.
Embracing Pregnancy Wellbeing & Wellness
Kushal arranges weekly well-being workshops in Bengali, facilitated by trained social entrepreneurs deeply embedded in the community. These workshops create a space for pregnant women to share their experiences, emotionally support each other, and learn ways to stay physically and psychologically healthy.
Breaking the Digital Gender Divide
Kushal is addressing the issue of the digital gender divide by providing training workshops for women on internet use and navigation. As part of this initiative, digital resources have been developed to guide pregnant women on using smartphones and accessing Kushal's web resources. The main goal of this program is to empower women digitally, enabling them to have greater access to livelihood support and education.
Storytelling as Therapy
Kushal's approach centres around the art of storytelling. Our workshops employ the power of stories for therapeutic storytelling and narrative therapy, drawing on the rich oral storytelling tradition within communities. This fosters peer support and helps improve the content in an ongoing manner.
Culinary Accounts
Our society tends to focus on immediate solutions when it comes to the health and nutrition of pregnant women and new mothers. However, we could adopt a more comprehensive approach that encourages lifelong healthy habits. This can be achieved by promoting nutritious recipes and targeted food distribution. By distributing food packs, we harness the power of storytelling to share culinary experiences and cultivate healthy eating habits.
